Peace

The Buddha’s dharma didn’t teach peace and relaxation.

Great compassion makes a peaceful heart. A peaceful heart makes a peaceful person. A peaceful person makes a peaceful family. A peaceful family makes a peaceful community. A peaceful community makes a peaceful nation. A peaceful nation makes a peaceful world.

Beyond all vanities, fights, and desires, omnipotent silence lies.

She kissed their knife marred bodies, for every act of war has, at its heart, an act of mercy.

Remember my words: Be truthful, be kind to one another, and you will attain peace. We will meet again in another life.

Peace surfaced here. Hard to imagine a person finding peace through war, but no one finds peace in war—peace finds you. It crawls into your sleeping bag and helps you fall asleep, nudges your arm, tells you to turn over, think about home.

In times of sorrow, be still.

Most of us need time to work through pain and loss. We can find all manner of reasons for postponing forgiveness. One of these reasons is waiting for the wrongdoers to repent before we forgive them. Yet such a delay causes us to forfeit the peace and happiness that could be ours.

When life is foggy, path is unclear and mind is dull, remember your breath. It has the power to give you the peace. It has the power to resolve the unsolved equations of life.

Living upon a basis of unsatisfied demands we were in a state of continual disturbance and frustration. Therefore no peace was to be had unless we could find a means of reducing these demands.

The scenes on this field would have cured anybody of war.

May you live in peace today and forever.

Hope is like peace. It is not a gift from God. It is a gift only we can give one another.

To live in peace is to follow peace with all men.

My U.N. Five-point plan focuses on preventing proliferation, strengthening the legal regime, and ensuring nuclear safety and security - an effort that was given good momentum by the Nuclear Security Summit held in Seoul earlier this year. The world is over-armed, and peace is underfunded.

A day will come when there will be no battlefields, but markets opening to commerce and minds opening to ideas.

May you see with eyes of light in everdark, may your mind walk free and unfettered amongst all, touching wisely and well, may you go in peace. But wait for me, beloved.

The temptation is too strong for me. Oh, Lord! Where is Thy peace that I believed in, in my childhood? – that I hear people speaking of now, as if it hushed up the troubles of life, and had not to be sought for – sought for, as with tears of blood! [-Jemima, chapter 26, pg. 275].

In a World where people are surrounded by darkness, ignorance and fear, it is a sign of hope to be celebrating Islam's message of peace and light, and the last great Messenger, born and chosen to deliver them to all mankind.

Modern society, based as it is on the division of labor, can be preserved only under conditions of lasting peace.
