Freedom

A dream, a wild dream of removing ourselves from the cares and sorrows of this miserable world and creating a world of our own. A long shot, yes, but who’s to say it can’t happen?

Denying yourself a life of personal freedom is denying yourself of a life worth living.

California is a bellwether state. California was the first state in the United States to overturn the laws against interracial marriage. It took 19 years for the rest of the country to come around to that point of view.

Again, where the people are absolute rulers of the land, they rejoice in having the openness and exuberance of youth, while a tyrant counts this a danger, and seeks to slay or silence those possessed of spirit, while the discreet fear his power and violence.

If we are to be truly free, that freedom will come through cooperation and tolerance with one another.

Those who deny freedom to others deserve it not for themselves and under a just God cannot long retain it.

There are a wide variety of freedoms; whether if it's to break away from drug addiction or government suppression. On a general scale, the one element all these types of freedoms share is the need to survive - however that may be.

Our tolerance is part of what makes Britain Britain. So conform to it, or don't come here.

The right of dissent, or, if you prefer, the right to be wrong, is surely fundamental to the existence of a democratic society. That’s the right that went first in every nation that stumbled down the trail toward totalitarianism.

There is a requirement to ensure the withdrawal takes place in a civilized manner. We will be able to show the world we deserve independence and freedom.

Emergencies” have always been the pretext on which the safeguards of individual liberty have eroded.

Imagine how free we would feel and what we could accomplish if we could live without fear.

Men, their rights, and nothing more; women, their rights, and nothing less.

So, this war is against the Islam that the West does not control.

We are free to live the life we have imagined, not the life imagined for us.

The price of freedom is eternal vigilance.

The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

We cannot change anything until we accept it. Condemnation does not liberate, it oppresses.

The only credential the city asked was the boldness to dream. For those who did, it unlocked its gates and its treasures, not caring who they were or where they came from.

Perhaps crossing the barriers of time has freed me.
