Freedom

Borders? I have never seen one. But I have heard they exist in the minds of some people.

Escape is a commodity like anything else.

What is freedom? Freedom is the right to choose: the right to create for oneself the alternatives of choice. Without the possibility of choice a man is not a man but a member, an instrument, a thing.

Can you not see that women could do and would do a hundred times more for the slave, if she were not fettered?

Prison is designed to break one's spirit and destroy one's resolve. To do this, the authorities attempt to exploit every weakness, demolish every initiative, negate all signs of individuality--all with the idea of stamping out that spark that makes each of us human and each of us who we are.
