Courage

Anything can be changed by those who have the courage to blaze their own path.

Self-confident people face their fears head-on and are willing to take risks.

It was hard to remember what I'd been so scared of. Being treated differently? Lack of acceptance? I was the one who hadn't accepted myself for who I was. I was the one who needed to be comfortable in my own skin. I hoped I could do that moving forward.

We had a teacher called Fanny Menlove, and I remember once when she was out of the room Nancy went up to the blackboard and wrote it backward - Menlove Fanny - and we all fell around laughing. She got into big trouble, but she didn't seem to mind. She had no fear.

Mercy is weakness. Offer it to your enemies and you might as well fall upon your own sword.

Unfortunately, violence has a way of overpowering even the strongest of wills.

If a policy is wrongheaded feckless and corrupt I take it personally and consider it a moral obligation to sound off and not shut up until it's fixed.

Courage - you develop courage by doing small things like just as if you wouldn't want to pick up a 100-pound weight without preparing yourself.

Much of what we consider valuable in our world arises out of (these) one-sided conflicts. Because the act of facing overwhelming odds, produces greatness and beauty.

Fear of confronting emotions is like fear of reading road signs.

Dare to dream and yearn to learn to cross the boundary of fears and doubts.

The artist committing himself to his calling has volunteered for hell, whether he knows it or not. He will be dining for the duration on a diet of isolation, rejection, self-doubt, despair, ridicule, contempt, and humiliation.

We couldn't possibly know where it would lead but we knew it had to be done.

All serious daring starts from within.

Then join in hand brave Americans all! By uniting we stand by dividing we fall.

Question the status quo; rebuke the existing rules, though it may be at the discomfort of the masses. They may however come to a later realization that it was really worth it and you may now have the status quo.
