Joseph Addison

Joseph Addison was an English essayist, poet, and playwright, known for co-founding the periodical 'The Spectator' and for his contributions to English literature in the early 18th century.

"Certain is it that there is no kind of affection so purely angelic as of a father to a daughter. In love to our wives there is desire; to our sons, ambition, but to our daughters there is something which there are no words to express."
Joseph Addison
"Nothing that is not a real crime makes a man appear so contemptible and little in the eyes of the world as inconsistency."
Joseph Addison
"I will indulge my sorrows, and give way to all the pangs and fury of despair."
